When it comes to weddings, people feel they have free rein to tell you what yours should look like and how it should be run. It can feel as if you’re being pressured to have everyone else’s dream wedding rather than your own. Continue reading “Wedding Advice for Stepmoms – Inside the June 2015 Issue”

3 Things Stepmoms Want Most for Mother’s Day

Stepmoms and Mothers Day

Every year millions of stepmoms wonder if they’ll get the call.

Which call? The one in which the voice on the other end of the phone says: “Hey! I know you’re not my mom, but I wanted to wish you a Happy Mother’s Day anyway. I think you’re pretty cool and I know you care a lot about my dad and our entire family. Thanks for everything you do for me.” Continue reading “3 Things Stepmoms Want Most for Mother’s Day”

Suzanne Somers Says Blended Family Life Was ‘Hell’

celebrity stepmom suzanne somers
“I often marvel that we made it through.”

Suzanne Somers. The name alone evokes memories of her role as Chrissy – the lovable, intellectually-challenged, blonde bombshell – on the 1970s TV sitcom “Three’s Company.” Or maybe you caught her more recent performance on the hit reality show “Dancing with the Stars.” She is an actress, comedienne, singer, entrepreneur, alternative medicine advocate and best-selling author.

Yet, she’s also a stepmom … and has been for 38 years!

Not many famous women lay claim to their stepmom status publicly much less elaborate on it. That’s why we here, at StepMom Magazine, adore Suzanne Somers – for being transparent and candid about her thoughts on blended family life in a recent interview with Closer Weekly Magazine. Click on the link below to read a summary of the interview by Karen Mizoguchi of UK’s DailyMail.com and find out what Somers says it was really like to marry a man with kids. Afterward, let us know what you think by posting a comment below.
