It may be the dead of winter but—on the upside—Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. A romantic and heartfelt holiday for some, it can be considered cliché by others. Regardless of where you stand and with 2018 well under way, renewal is still a topic of discussion among stepfamilies who look to the future in hopes of finding ways to make this their best yet.
I err on the side of heartfelt and am excited to offer you a special treat! I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Ron L. Deal, MMFT, a professional counselor and renowned stepfamily expert. We discussed his passion for working with stepfamilies, his published work, upcoming projects and a new release.
Deal has authored several titles, like “The Smart Stepfamily,” “The Smart Stepdad” and “Dating and the Single Parent.” His co-author credits include “The Smart Stepmom,” written with Relationship Expert and StepMom Contributor Laura Petherbridge, and “The Smart Stepfamily Marriage,” co-written by David H. Olson, PhD, of Life Innovations.
