Women are more misogynistic than men. There! I said it. And I meant it.

I came to this sad conclusion after decades of befriending and observing other women. I know that statement may sound sacrilegious and that’s certainly not my intention. Yet, the competition, vitriol and downright meanness among many women just can’t be denied. The judgments and criticisms women foist upon each other are relentless.

To name a few, there are: pro-life women vs. pro-choice women, stay-at-home moms vs. working moms, women who choose to have children vs. women who don’t, Trump women vs. Clinton women and—where I see it most, given what I do for a living—stepmoms vs. ex-wives.

When it comes to the criticisms leveled toward women by women, I’ve seen no more vile and hateful attacks than I do between new wives and ex-wives. A large majority of the stepmoms I work with say their partners’ exes are “crazy, borderline, insane and manipulative.” Not surprisingly, a large majority of the ex-wives I work with say their ex’s new partner is …?
